Brothers’ Cellar (Dzmebis Marani) was founded in 2015 with the vision of transforming a family tradition into a business and increasing the global recognition of Bolnisian winemaking. That same year, the brothers began restoring the ancient Qvevri tradition, producing and bottling their first wines: Rkatsiteli, Tavkveri, and Saperavi.
The name of the winery was not chosen by chance; it represents family unity and a shared love for their craft. It was this very unity and commitment to quality-oriented labor that made it possible to register “Bolnisi” as a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), significantly advancing the production of high-quality wines in the region.
Today, the cellar produces Rkatsiteli, Saperavi, Tavkveri, Chinuri, Asuretuli Shavi, and Shavkapito, while continuing to create experimental wines nearly every year. The techniques used are diverse—ranging from traditional Qvevri and European styles to the unique “Swabian” technology characteristic of Bolnisi, the promotion of which remains one of the winery’s primary future goals.
The winery produces approximately 10,000 bottles annually. Grapes are sourced from various terroirs, ensuring a diverse character in the wines, with selections made through long-term partnerships with dedicated local winegrowers.
Our future goals remain ambitious: to create high-quality, distinctive Bolnisian wines, expand exports, and promote the Bolnisi terroir on a global scale.
